Archives for the month of: March, 2011

I have been thinking about making a post that compiles all of my new favorite beauty products for Spring and I am finally getting the time to do so! This semester has been so hectic with classes and doing costumes for a play at the college I attend,so I knew I needed to change up my beauty routine to fit my busy schedule. After using Bare Minerals this past Fall, I thought about trying something new. I made a trip to Sephora after reading reviews online about Cargo Blu Ray makeup and Makeup For Ever HD products, and I ended up buying these from Cargo:

Liquid Foundation, Blu Ray Pressed Powder, and the new Safari Collection Kit.

Each of these items has exactly what I am looking for; good coverage, long-lasting, and quick and easy to apply. Plus, the new Safari Kit comes with the makeup pouch, which is super cute.

Other new beauty buys that I have fallen in the love with are

(From top to bottom: NYC in a New York Minute Nail Polish in Chinatown, Malibu’s Hemp Glowing Self Tanner Lotion, John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Shampoo and Conditioner)

I actually tried on this outfit together in the store and couldn’t wait to wear it out. The shirt is fun and colorful, but not over the top. Also I recently died my hair…I’ve never gone red before, but so far its a nice change!

I ended up stumbling upon these two great finds this past week and are too good to not share!

The first is New Zealand designer Juliette Hogan. Since 2001, her career in fashion design has skyrocketed into a handful of collections and her own boutique. From the moment I saw her cover picture of the “So pretty it hurts” collection, I fell in love. Her entire design aesthetic sums up my personal style in each and every look, from the colors to the balance of feminine and modern pieces. She also offers a limited infant line, named Juliette Hogan Baby, and even a collection of Bridesmaids dresses for those who are looking for more casual-pretty pieces. Unfortunately, her collections are not available to purchase online as of yet, so for now we will  have to admire them from our computer screens.

Singer22.com is a discounted online store that sells top designer items for up to 90% off the original price. Though not as popular as ideeli, Beyond the Rack, etc, Singer offers brands such as House of Harlow, Alice + Olivia, and Jeffrey Campbell. You also don’t need a membership for this site like the others, so what are you waiting for? Get your shop on!
